Who we are

This website is operated by solmiraks, of Perth, Western Australia. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

• Details you type into the contact form: your name, email address, chosen subject and message.
• Details you give when joining the mailing list: your name and email address.
• Server logs kept by our hosting provider: IP address, request time, page requested, referrer and browser user agent.

We do not collect sensitive information as that term is defined in the Privacy Act, and we ask you not to send it to us.

No analytics and no trackers

This site runs no analytics, no advertising pixels, no session recording and no third-party cookies. The only cookies that may be set are those strictly necessary for the site to be delivered to your browser. We do not build profiles of visitors and we do not sell, rent or trade personal information.

Why we collect it, and your consent

We use contact form details only to answer you, and mailing list details only to send the letter you asked for. Submitting a form and ticking the consent box is your consent to that use. Server logs are used to keep the site available and secure, and to investigate faults or abuse.

How long we keep it

Correspondence is kept for 24 months and then deleted. Mailing list details are kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs are kept by our host for 30 days and then discarded.

Hosting and contractors

The site is hosted by a commercial web host, and email is handled by a commercial email provider. These providers process data on our instructions. Where a provider stores or processes data outside Australia, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, and by using this site you acknowledge that overseas storage may occur.

Your rights

• Access: you may ask what personal information we hold about you.
• Correction: you may ask us to correct anything inaccurate or out of date.
• Deletion: you may ask us to delete your correspondence and mailing list record.
• Withdrawal: you may withdraw consent at any time, which ends any further contact from us.

Write to privacy@solmiraks.com and we will respond within a reasonable period, ordinarily within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before acting.

Complaints

If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, write to our privacy contact at privacy@solmiraks.com and set out what happened. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
